The Louisiana State Penitentiary (LSP, also known as Angola, and nicknamed the « Alcatraz of the South » and « The Farm ») is a maximum security prison farm in Louisiana operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections. It is sometimes called « Angola » after the name of the post office that serves the prison.
It is the largest maximum security prison in the United States with 6,300 inmates and 1,800 staff. It is located on an 18,000-acre (7,300†ha) property that was previously the Angola and other plantations owned by Isaac Franklin in unincorporated West Feliciana Parish, directly adjacent to the Mississippi state line. The prison is located at the end of Louisiana Highway 66, around 22 miles (35†km) northwest of St. Francisville. Angola is bordered on three sides by the Mississippi River. Since 1995, Burl Cain has been the warden. Death row for men and the state execution chamber for both sexes are located at the Angola facility.
La Station EDKOIL est l’objet d’un abus de confiance présumé. En effet, suite à une lettreplainte formulée par Cheikh Diop, responsable du Service de contrôle EDKOIL de Kédougou, Aliou Seck, gérant de la station locale de la même entreprise, est en position de gardeàvue. D’après l’auteur de la plainte, c’est au cours d’un contrôle comptable de la Station EDKOIL, qu’il a constaté un manquement dans les caisses.Poursuivant, le plaignant de dire que le déficit s’élève à un montant de cinq millions quatre cent seize mille sept cents (5.416.700) francs Cfa. Interrogé sur les faits présumés, Aliou Seck, gérant de ladite Station, aurait avoué avoir détourné effectivement l’argent à des fins personnelles, en jouant au pari sportif de Xbet. Résultat : il a été placé en position de gardeàvue pour abus de confiance présumé. L’enquête suit son cours.
